Prologue: Vatermont 9th-23rd
Zanther's Luck had two weeks left to go in the three month voyage from Specularum to the exotic port city of Sasserine. On the 9th of Vatermont seven passengers found themselves in a late night conversation. All came from different backgrounds and all were going to Sasserine for different reasons, but all found themselves here, on the same ship, at this moment in time.
Lavinia Vanderboren (NPC human female) A beautiful young noblewoman in her early twenties, Lavinia is returning home to Sasserine after five years away at the Thyatian Imperial Academy.
Guialanas Nereven (NPC human male) A priest of Pelor hailing from the Pearl Islands, Guialanas is going to Sasserine for missionary work.
Skylus Tevor (NPC human male) A sailor from Ostland, working as part of the crew of Zanther's Luck, he didn't speak too much about his background or why he was traveling to Sasserine.
Lucius (PC human Cleric of Procan/Abjurer) part of the crew
Petros (PC human Swashbuckler/Rogue) part of the crew
Longmarsh (PC half-orc Druid/Fighter) sailing as a passenger, boarded with Deschain
John Cameron Deschain (PC human Paladin of Freedom (Valkur)/Bard) sailing as a passenger, boarded with Longmarsh
These seven people engaged in a long-ranging discussion, no doubt spurred on by a large bottle of rum shared by all except for Nereven. Some people talked about their backgrounds and where they came from. Others got into a philosophical debate concerning good and evil and the nature of the gods. The most heated debate was probably between Longmarsh and Nereven, with all eventually deciding that no one's opinion was going to be changed in matters of faith.
Two weeks later Zanther's Luck passed under the ruins of Teraknian's Arch into the sheltered harbor of Sasserine. The various passengers and crewmen then went their separate ways, perhaps never to see each other again aside from a friendly nod when they passed each other on the street. There are those, though, who say that when people make a journey together their fates are intertwined. If that is true then some or all of these seven people are bound by fate, or the god's wills, or chance, to meet again...
